The Oathing Stone is an old Celtic tradition which dates back to folk-law and it is steeped in Celtic roots…Imagine a time before wedding rings could be forged from metal, in the highland areas couples would carve their names on a stone before stating their oath…It is believed that as the couple, hold the stone in their hands while reading their vow’s it would cast them into the stone…which is where we get the saying we all know today ‘Set in Stone' - Some of these OATH stones still exist across the Celtic-lands even today.
